Huangshan Mountain, China

Huangshan Mountain, located in the south of Anhui Province, is a world cultural and natural heritage and a world geological park. It is known as a "fairyland on earth" and "the first wonder mountain in the world". Huangshan Mountain, formerly known as Yi Mountain, was named after the blue and black peaks and the distant view of Cangdai. Legend has it that Huangdi in Xuanyuan once collected medicine and made an alchemy here, and achieved immortality. Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty believed in Taoism, so he changed Zhi Mountain to Huangshan Mountain in the sixth year of Tianbao. The representative scenic spots of Huangshan Mountain include Welcome Pine, Lotus Peak, Guangmingding, Tiandu Peak, Feilaishi and Xihai Grand Canyon. The four wonders of Huangshan refer to four unique landscapes of Huangshan, namely, strange pines, strange rocks, sea of clouds and hot springs. There are three famous waterfalls in Huangshan: herringbone waterfall, Baizhang Spring and Jiulong Waterfall. There are 72 peaks in Huangshan Mountain, which is known as "36 peaks and 36 small peaks". The main peak, Lotus Peak, is as high as 1864.8 meters above sea level. Huangshan Mountain experienced orogeny and crustal uplift, as well as glacier and natural weathering, before its peak forest structure was formed. Huangshan Mountain is a collection of 800 million years of geological history, integrating peak forest landforms and glacier relics, and has rich and typical geological landscapes such as granite molding stones, granite caves and Quantanxi waterfalls.
